As friendly and loving Dogs seems to be, they also are one of the most loyal animals we have seen. And they’ve proved this statement in many stories.

The Black Lab mix, Moose, is no exception in this case. This 3-year-old doggy was found patiently waiting for his owner near his hospital bed. But sadly, he was unknown to the fact that his “Dad” passed away.

This facebook image posted by North Star Pet Rescue, New Jersey shows the poor doggy ‘taking the loss of his dad pretty hard.’ The image quickly went viral with 4 thousand hearts sharing it to their friends.

One of the commentators said:

“Please please please try and send the dog something with his old owners smell on it. My mom’s dog grieved so bad and would have nightmares and cry all night. She’s a lab. We gave her my mom’s pillow, and she slept so hard that first night and slept with it every night until one night she was ok. It made such a huge difference.”

The photo was posted by the Animal Rescue Center in the hope to find a new home to this loyal dog. Even if he was in grief, the doggie is described to be a ‘sweet happy boy by nature.’

On their Facebook post, the center wrote:

“Moose sat patiently next to his dad’s hospital bed, waiting for him to return, not knowing that “Dad” had passed away. Moose has now been returned to our friends at Eleventh Hour Rescue, and he’s taking the loss of his dad pretty hard. Please help Moose find a new home and a family for him to love. He’s a sweet happy boy by nature. He just needs people to help his heart heal.”

Moose stayed under the love and care of EHR Kennel  Randolph, NJ for a few days.

The post wrote:

“He is a 3-year-old Lab mix, housebroken, adores kids, okay with dogs (pretty much neutral to them), but not meant for a home with cats or birds. But people, boy, does he love them! So much so that Moose would do best in a home where he wasn’t left home alone all day long, he misses his people too much. If you can help Moose’s heart heal by offering him a temporary foster home or a permanent home, please go to ehrdogs.org and put in an application to meet this sweet, loving boy. Let’s mend this broken heart, together”

However, Moose didn’t have to stay on the kennel for many days. Just in two days, Moose was flooded with several applications to adopt him.

Now, the pup has a forever home he puts dear to his heart.

The update on the post stated:

“MOOSE HAS BEEN ADOPTED by a wonderful family who will care for and love him for the rest of his life! Thank you again to everyone who shared his story!”
