Wolves are extremely dangerous creatures. They are very successful hunters, thanks to their pack mentality. Because of their great teamwork, they can bring down prey much bigger than them. This is why they are the apex predators in their habitats, meaning that they have no natural predators. Dogs are direct descendants of these amazing creatures. They have retained some characteristics from wolves to this day.

All dogs can be traced back to wolves. They share similar DNA, including physical and behavioral characteristics. This means they can be interbred, and wolfdogs are the result of that. They usually retain scary wolf-like features but tend to have the domestic behavior similar to that of dogs. It’s hard to imagine how our goofy dogs and these killing machines share the same DNA, but they do! The following video shows what happens when a wolfdog meets a puppy.

Charlie, the 10 week old German Shepherd puppy, was about to make a very special friend. He was introduced to Smokey the wolf dog. Smokey is part wolf and part Malamute, but he is very gentle. All he did was shower the tiny pooch with loving kisses. Smokey was much bigger than Charlie, but he didn’t have a mean bone in his body. He was so tender with the pup that you’d mistake them for siblings!
